T/n: Yan Jin is Xu Luozhao's partner, and maybe husband. He was mentioned back in chapter ...

Five years ago, Helian Qing saw Han Yang for the first time. Back then, a friend of his hosted a youth web-game competition, and had sent him, Xu Luozhao and Yan Jin, invitations. Having no significant interest in that contest, he attended the event nonetheless, since his friend was the one who had sent him the invite.

The smile the lad gave had hints of childishness, causing him to appear even younger. Upon seeing that smile, Helian Qing released a gentle groan, before smacking his handful of documents onto Xu Luozhao's face and saying, "Take a look at these."

At the venue for the event, Helian Qing's attention was divided between the competition itself, a chattering Xu Luozhao, and the documents in his hands.

"Thank you." Han Yang smiled lightly, the act carrying a tinge of embarrassment due to those people's praises.

While Helian Qing looking on at that grandfather and grandson, the sudden thought that he should not have gone there overtook him; and that he should also not disturb their warm and peaceful life.

Not a second was wasted by Helian Qing in leaving the hotel, making his way directly to the train station.

Him looking at me with his eyes spread so wide is very cute too—so silly•[4]. It makes me feel like I can just snatch him up and put him in my pocket! The depths of Helian Qing's heart stirred restlessly•.

So just like that, he stood still outside that front yard, gazing at Han Yang, neither entering, nor leaving.

"Hello to all the guests, judges and teachers." The young man on the stage bowed respectfully after saying his greetings. "My name is Han Yang and I'm a student of Y-City No.1 High School."

Though the name of the village was written down as Han Yang's address, the specific location for his house was not, therefore that man could only get off the motorcycle at the village's entrance and ask around. Luckily, because the lad was an excellent student, he was quite well-known in the village; and the distance of house from the entrance was not that great, so after turning a few corners Helian Qing finally found the place.

The youth's request was permitted and the host asked for that teammate the lad had mentioned to come onto the stage.

Helian Qing was never fearful of any rumours or slanders. He was also capable of standing up to anyone who opposed him and was even more confident of his ability to protect Han Yang, along with giving him a better life. That was what he believed before going there; but at this moment, he had come to the realisation such thoughts were merely his own wishful thinking.

As friends of the investor, Helian Qing and Xu Luozhao were VIP level honoured guests. So once the host saw him raise his hand, he put aside his own speech and handed the floor over to him. Even though that man did not have much of an understanding towards game programming, he did however play more than a fair share of games during his school days. Thus immediately after the handover, he began asking a few questions pertaining to the game's plot and design elements.

Having no significant interest in that contest, he attended the event nonetheless, since his friend was the one who had sent him the invite.

His height was rather short; probably not even tall enough to reach the man's own shoulder.

"Had what written all over them?" Helian Qing raised his head to look at him.

With this teenager, Han Yang, now on the stage, he more or less explained the design of game along with his source of inspiration for the creative concept behind it. At the start, he was a bit overcautious and reserved, but as he slowly explained his own plan, his words began flowing without any hindrance. From his description, everyone could easily construct an outline then build a complete image of the game's workings in their minds.

At the venue for the event, Helian Qing's attention was divided between the competition itself, a chattering Xu Luozhao, and the documents in his hands.

"Thank you." Han Yang smiled lightly, the act carrying a tinge of embarrassment due to those people's praises.

So, after half a decade of separation, Helian Qing laid eyes on Han Yang again. He noticed that the youth had already grown into a young man. His brows, which in the beginning showed his inexperience, had now become as gentle as a stream; and just like they had before—still made his heart throb.

Though Han Yang's life right then was probably not so well off, but from looking at the expression on that boy's face he could see the lad was indeed very content.

"Hey ey ey, you came here to watch the contest. You don't have to worry about work all the time, you know!" Xu Luozhao poked Helian Qing, "Look at how much effort our country's little flowers[1] are putting into bettering themselves. You should show a bit of enthusiasm too and give them a little encouragement."

Until one random day, after five years had passed, when Xu Luozhao brought a piece of information before him, and made them cross paths yet again.

The train station was crowded with people, and Helian Qing wanted very much to push his way through that heavy stream of bodies, but he was prevented to move even a single step. He then caught a quick glance of Han Yang checking his ticket then going into the station. So, in a moment of utter desperation, he, towards the silhouette of the one who was practically submerged in the crowd, called out: "Han Yang!"

For the next two days, Helian Qing handled his affairs, and once done, went over to Han Yang's location.

"Hey ey ey, you came here to watch the contest. You don't have to worry about work all the time, you know!" Xu Luozhao poked Helian Qing, "Look at how much effort our country's little flowers are putting into bettering themselves. You should show a bit of enthusiasm too and give them a little encouragement."

"He'll be unhappy," Helian Qing replied.

That was the first time Helian Qing knew what having his heart being moved felt like. He then collected his pictures and news clippings of Han Yang from the competition, locking them away in a small box before placing it on the highest bookshelf—never to look at them again.

Even though this Qing Gége and Saltfish's written story has come to an end, those two will continue to enjoy many happy days in the future~

Helian Qing continued to write notes on the documents to highlight the areas which needed modifications, not even attempting to lift his head as he responded: "I'll leave the matter of giving encouragement to you, with my share included as well."

Though Han Yang's life right then was probably not so well off, but from looking at the expression on that boy's face he could see the lad was indeed very content.

"Unhappy?" Xu Luozhao laughed. "When I first met Yan Jin, do you think I was happy?"

"Tch, you're such a dull man." Xu Luozhao harrumphed.

The youth's request was permitted and the host asked for that teammate the lad had mentioned to come onto the stage.

While Helian Qing looking on at that grandfather and grandson, the sudden thought that he should not have gone there overtook him; and that he should also not disturb their warm and peaceful life.

The uniquely refreshing tone belonging to that youth standing on the platform, floated into the dull man's ear, prompting the pen in his hand to stop—his head raising slightly as he looked towards the stage and at the teen, who had just given his self-introduction.

Yet a short while later, he poked Helian again, saying, "The creativity of the one from this group's is pretty darn good! Although their technical know-how is inadequate; creativity-wise, they're more original and bold."

So, after half a decade of separation, Helian Qing laid eyes on Han Yang again. He noticed that the youth had already grown into a young man. His brows, which in the beginning showed his inexperience, had now become as gentle as a stream; and just like they had before—still made his heart throb.

"Get away from me," Helian Qing pushed him aside, moving to take a seat behind his office desk.

"What kid?" Helian Qing asked.

"Mn, courageous indeed," Helian Qing said effortlessly.

"He'll be unhappy," Helian Qing replied.

"He headed to the train station," the other party replied, "and he'll be taking the 12:50 train back to Y-City."

Helian Qing thought to himself.

"You didn't even look, so how can you say it was courageous," Xu Luozhao spat.

"Cough, cough!" Xu Luozhao came to Han Yang's rescue, saying to him: "So in short, your concept is very interesting, and your story is quite novel. I, as a person, am incredibly happy to see a game like this—I like it very much. You're amazing."

"And you're talking as if you can read and understand code," Helian Qing retorted.

The old man carried a bowl of vegetables in his hand, so Han Yang put aside his book and went to take the vegetables from him, cut them up, then gave them to the small chicks to eat. Once they were done being fed, Han Yang washed his hands and returned to his studies. The old man took a seat in the rocking chair beside the teen, drifting off into a nap. Those chicks, having eaten their fill, went back to their place beside Han Yang's feet, and like the old man, also dozed off.

Not a second was wasted by Helian Qing in leaving the hotel, making his way directly to the train station.

"You didn't even look, so how can you say it was courageous," Xu Luozhao spat.

"Why am I even still asking you?" Xu Luozhao turned towards the presenter on the stage after he spoke, gesturing that he had a question to ask.

"And you're talking as if you can read and understand code," Helian Qing retorted.

Until one random day, after five years had passed, when Xu Luozhao brought a piece of information before him, and made them cross paths yet again.

"You are the Boss, and you have the final say," Xu Luozhao conceded.

With Xu Luozhao kicking things off, the other judges also became interested in the creative aspect of that game, asking their own questions as well. At first, the contestants on the stage answered the questions without a hitch, but slowly they became unable to the questions they were given. Prompting one of the group members to ask the team of judges apologetically, "The creative concept was done by another one of my group members, so would it be possible to allow him to come on stage and explain it to all of you?"

"He'll be unhappy," Helian Qing replied.

His height was rather short; probably not even tall enough to reach the man's own shoulder.

The warmth radiating from such a scene was unfathomable, acting as an instant cure for the travel-worn Helian Qing following his exhausting journey. He stood outside the low-lying fence, remaining entirely still, while he simply gazed at the lad; suddenly not knowing whether or not he should disturb him, nor what he should say regarding his purpose of coming there.

I will scare him. Helian Qing, for the first time in his life—felt hesitance.

Five years earlier, the road into Han Yang's village had not been repaired, so the path from the small town into the village was still bumpy, unlevelled and muddy. Because it had rained not too long ago, the road was even more difficult traverse. Only motorcycles were able to make the voyage from the town to Han Yang's home; hence the now sitting on a motorcycle at a flying speed Helian Qing, who was practically biting his teeth into pieces, and of course, his behind was included in this shattering act for the entire journey.

The uniquely refreshing tone belonging to that youth standing on the platform, floated into the dull man's ear, prompting the pen in his hand to stop—his head raising slightly as he looked towards the stage and at the teen, who had just given his self-introduction.

At the venue for the event, Helian Qing's attention was divided between the competition itself, a chattering Xu Luozhao, and the documents in his hands.

Probably because he had never expected the man before him to say such a thing, Han Yang froze. A vacant look painted itself upon his face momentarily. With his eyes widened greatly, he looked at that man; the thought of issuing a reply utterly forgotten.

The youth's request was permitted and the host asked for that teammate the lad had mentioned to come onto the stage.

Unable to tell what was going on in his own head, Helian Qing simply felt that if he did not go chase after that youth—he would regret it. Only wanting greatly to grab hold of that boy who was like a unmarked piece of paper.

That was the first time Helian Qing knew what having his heart being moved felt like. He then collected his pictures and news clippings of Han Yang from the competition, locking them away in a small box before placing it on the highest bookshelf—never to look at them again.

"Hello to all the guests, judges and teachers." The young man on the stage bowed respectfully after saying his greetings. "My name is Han Yang and I'm a student of Y-City No.1 High School."

At the venue for the event, Helian Qing's attention was divided between the competition itself, a chattering Xu Luozhao, and the documents in his hands.

Helian Qing went back alone, leaving Xu Luozhao perplexed as he circled Helian Qing a couple times, "Something's fishy, something is really fishy."

"Get away from me," Helian Qing pushed him aside, moving to take a seat behind his office desk.

"Of course not. The other students who won awards will be included as well," the friend explained.

The uniquely refreshing tone belonging to that youth standing on the platform, floated into the dull man's ear, prompting the pen in his hand to stop—his head raising slightly as he looked towards the stage and at the teen, who had just given his self-introduction.

Noon was the peak time of rush hour for those people who were getting off work. The road, as a result, was congested in quite a few places. So after he hurriedly arrived at the train station, Han Yang had already gone through the safety check.

His height was rather short; probably not even tall enough to reach the man's own shoulder.

*

His face was very good looking—fair and clean. Wearing a white school uniform, he gave off the impression he was someone who was quite clever.

"He's heading back home?" Helian Qing's brows wrinkled. "Where did he go?"

Even though that man did not have much of an understanding towards game programming, he did however play more than a fair share of games during his school days. Thus immediately after the handover, he began asking a few questions pertaining to the game's plot and design elements.

His voice sounded quite nice—crisp and refreshing; possessing a clean and penetrating timbre only a youth could have.

"Sigh. What the hell happened, huh? Can you just tell me that?” Xu Luozhao was not happy at all.

Helian Qing remained silent for a while, then gave a brief overview of what had happened.

So, after half a decade of separation, Helian Qing laid eyes on Han Yang again. He noticed that the youth had already grown into a young man. His brows, which in the beginning showed his inexperience, had now become as gentle as a stream; and just like they had before—still made his heart throb.

Around that time five years ago, the same-sex marriage bill had just been proposed; and that period was precisely when its supporters and opponents were the at the pinnacle of their fight against the other. There were many opponents who formed a coalition to fight against this issue in court; thus, its supporters, unwilling to fall behind, also formed a group of their own to confront them—locking both sides in fierce opposition with the other. The event became a prolonged war, and no one knew when it would come to an end.

I can't tell whether or not he's sixteen... Helian Qing thought to himself.

Following his return, Helian Qing was busy for an entire week. Later, when he was no longer engrossed in his work and finally able to relax, he again could not help but recall those wide eyes of the youth as he looked towards him; nor the of the image of that same boy's face when he turned back to scan the crowd at the train station.

With this teenager, Han Yang, now on the stage, he more or less explained the design of game along with his source of inspiration for the creative concept behind it. At the start, he was a bit overcautious and reserved, but as he slowly explained his own plan, his words began flowing without any hindrance. "Unhappy?" Xu Luozhao laughed. "When I first met Yan Jin, do you think I was happy?"

Done with answering everyone's questions, afterwards, all of the ones who were facing him looked on with smiled filled faces. Seeing this young man carrying an air traced with inexperience, and brows which were delicate and pretty, made Helian Qing feel as if his own heart had been caught by a cat.

Noon was the peak time of rush hour for those people who were getting off work. The road, as a result, was congested in quite a few places. So after he hurriedly arrived at the train station, Han Yang had already gone through the safety check.

After he spoke, he noticed the judges were all unmoving, staring at him in silence, causing him to be unable to prevent a blush from staining his face, "I'm sorry, did I say too much?"

"..." Xu Luozhao took the documents, not saying a word.

After he spoke, he noticed the judges were all unmoving, staring at him in silence, causing him to be unable to prevent a blush from staining his face, "I'm sorry, did I say too much?"

"Yes," Han Yang replied.

According to the report, Han Yang had just turned fifteen, attended Y-City No.1 High School, and had a grandfather listed as his only relative.

"Mn, courageous indeed," Helian Qing said effortlessly.

Probably because he had never expected the man before him to say such a thing, Han Yang froze. A vacant look painted itself upon his face momentarily. With his eyes widened greatly, he looked at that man; the thought of issuing a reply utterly forgotten.

"Not at all, you explained it all amazingly well!" A judge began clapping, with the others soon following suit, erupting into a round of applause.

"Stop spewing crap, and just do a basic background check for his address and personal info. Send it to me in half an hour," Helian Qing stated.

From his description, everyone could easily construct an outline then build a complete image of the game's workings in their minds.

"Thank you." Han Yang smiled lightly, the act carrying a tinge of embarrassment due to those people's praises.

Even though this Qing Gége and Saltfish's written story has come to an end, those two will continue to enjoy many happy days in the future~

"A'Qing, at noon there'll be a luncheon with the kids who won awards, do you want to come along?" the friend asked.

"Had what written all over them?" Helian Qing raised his head to look at him.

Afterwards, he proceeded to answer their questions. Although he felt a bit shy and nervous in the beginning, his speech, to the contrary, held not a single trace of impoliteness nor did it overlook anything while he stood on that platform. Very attentive, were his replies. The responses adequately stringing all the narrative threads together in a neat fashion. So although the execution of the overall game design was lacking, as Xu Luozhao had said, it was indeed—very bold.

When he got there, Han Yang was sitting on a short stool below a grape trellis reading a book; wearing an oversized T-shirt and shorts; with a nest full of chicks basking in the sunlight at his feet. Han Yang, head lowered, earnestly jotted down his notations in the book, his hand only stopping occasionally to reach over and play with the little chick that dozed off beside him, teasing the little thing into a flutter, as it then pecked at his toes in fun.

I will scare him. Helian Qing, for the first time in his life—felt hesitance.

"Cough, cough!" Xu Luozhao came to Han Yang's rescue, saying to him: "So in short, your concept is very interesting, and your story is quite novel. I, as a person, am incredibly happy to see a game like this—I like it very much. You're amazing."

"Oh. So does that mean your nickname is Teng SengT/n: just think of Teng Seng as Mother Theresa for now then?" Helian Qing asked. "Are you the saviour of the common man?"

Done with answering everyone's questions, afterwards, all of the ones who were facing him looked on with smiled filled faces. Seeing this young man carrying an air traced with inexperience, and brows which were delicate and pretty, made Helian Qing feel as if his own heart had been caught by a cat.

"The one from the contest! The one who's address you asked for," Xu Luozhao exclaimed. "When you looked at other people your eyes had it written all over them, to the point where it scared me!"

"They were filled with: Mine Mine Mine Mine Mine Mine!" Xu Luozhao stated exaggeratedly.

The smile the lad gave had hints of childishness, causing him to appear even younger. Upon seeing that smile, Helian Qing released a gentle groan, before smacking his handful of documents onto Xu Luozhao's face and saying, "Take a look at these."

Han Yang seemed to have heard someone had called him, but with the large number of people within the terminal—all of whom produced their own mix of miscellaneous noises—he was unable to hear it clearly. Turning around to look, he also did not notice anyone he knew, therefore he just checked his ticket then continued into the station.

So, after half a decade of separation, Helian Qing laid eyes on Han Yang again. He noticed that the youth had already grown into a young man. His brows, which in the beginning showed his inexperience, had now become as gentle as a stream; and just like they had before—still made his heart throb.

For the next two days, Helian Qing handled his affairs, and once done, went over to Han Yang's location.

The uniquely refreshing tone belonging to that youth standing on the platform, floated into the dull man's ear, prompting the pen in his hand to stop—his head raising slightly as he looked towards the stage and at the teen, who had just given his self-introduction.

That was the first time Helian Qing knew what having his heart being moved felt like. He then collected his pictures and news clippings of Han Yang from the competition, locking them away in a small box before placing it on the highest bookshelf—never to look at them again.

"Yes," Han Yang replied.

Helian Qing thought to himself.

I will scare him. Helian Qing, for the first time in his life—felt hesitance.

With his fingers tapping against the table a few times, at that moment where Han Yang had completed his responses, he suddenly asked: "I gave your story idea a once over. So, in the game, it seems every one of the villains has had some sort of tragic experience that made them become sinister, and in the end, they're all allowed to receive redemption, is that correct?"

"Why am I even still asking you?" Xu Luozhao turned towards the presenter on the stage after he spoke, gesturing that he had a question to ask.

"They were filled with: Mine Mine Mine Mine Mine Mine!" Xu Luozhao stated exaggeratedly.

◈◇◈

The youth's request was permitted and the host asked for that teammate the lad had mentioned to come onto the stage.

"Yes," Han Yang replied.

His voice sounded quite nice—crisp and refreshing; possessing a clean and penetrating timbre only a youth could have.

After ten minutes or so, a head full of white hair belonging to an old man appeared from inside the house. Helian Qing guessed that he should be Han Yang's grandfather, and the boy's only relative.

That was the first time Helian Qing knew what having his heart being moved felt like. He then collected his pictures and news clippings of Han Yang from the competition, locking them away in a small box before placing it on the highest bookshelf—never to look at them again.

Since things was like that, what reason did he have to pull him down that path when the storm was at its peak[5], and pull his life off its intended path for no reason? Besides that, there was also that old man with the hunched back who placed all his hopes and dreams onto Han Yang.

Until one random day, after five years had passed, when Xu Luozhao brought a piece of information before him, and made them cross paths yet again.

"Oh. So does that mean your nickname is Teng SengT/n: just think of Teng Seng as Mother Theresa for now[3] then?" Helian Qing asked. "Are you the saviour of the common man?"

"..." Helian Qing lowered his head back to his documents.

Probably because he had never expected the man before him to say such a thing, Han Yang froze. A vacant look painted itself upon his face momentarily. With his eyes widened greatly, he looked at that man; the thought of issuing a reply utterly forgotten.

Him looking at me with his eyes spread so wide is very cute too—so silly•[4]. It makes me feel like I can just snatch him up and put him in my pocket! The depths of Helian Qing's heart stirred restlessly•.

"Of course not. The other students who won awards will be included as well," the friend explained.

"Cough, cough!" Xu Luozhao came to Han Yang's rescue, saying to him: "So in short, your concept is very interesting, and your story is quite novel. I, as a person, am incredibly happy to see a game like this—I like it very much. You're amazing."

At that moment Helian Qing realized, that after so many years, a part of his heart had always been reserved for that youth called Han Yang.

"Ah, thank you." Because of this man's praises, Han Yang's eyes formed an upward curve as he smiled towards him.

His face was very good looking—fair and clean. Wearing a white school uniform, he gave off the impression he was someone who was quite clever.

"Sigh. What the hell happened, huh? Can you just tell me that?” Xu Luozhao was not happy at all.

The smile the lad gave had hints of childishness, causing him to appear even younger. Upon seeing that smile, Helian Qing released a gentle groan, before smacking his handful of documents onto Xu Luozhao's face and saying, "Take a look at these."

◈◇◈

"..." Xu Luozhao took the documents, not saying a word.

I can't tell whether or not he's sixteen... Helian Qing thought to himself.

Once the competition had ended, Helian Qing was pulled aside by his friend to exchange greetings and polite conversation. While one part of his focus was preoccupied with dealing with the aforementioned distraction, the other maintained its composure as his eyes trailed after Han Yang, noticing the boy was talking with a teacher.

"Award winners?" Helian Qing, seemingly unconcerned, asked. "So just the top three?"

I will scare him. Helian Qing, for the first time in his life—felt hesitance.

"A'Qing, at noon there'll be a luncheon with the kids who won awards, do you want to come along?" the friend asked.

The End.

"Unhappy?" Xu Luozhao laughed. "When I first met Yan Jin, do you think I was happy?"

Helian Qing thought to himself.

"The one from the contest! The one who's address you asked for," Xu Luozhao exclaimed. "When you looked at other people your eyes had it written all over them, to the point where it scared me!"

"It's not the same," Helian Qing paused, "he's different."

"Of course not. The other students who won awards will be included as well," the friend explained.

"Tch, you're such a dull man." Xu Luozhao harrumphed.

His voice sounded quite nice—crisp and refreshing; possessing a clean and penetrating timbre only a youth could have.

So just like that, he stood still outside that front yard, gazing at Han Yang, neither entering, nor leaving.

"I can't," Helian Qing stated.

"The one from the contest! The one who's address you asked for," Xu Luozhao exclaimed. "When you looked at other people your eyes had it written all over them, to the point where it scared me!"

Less than half an hour later, not even as much as ten minutes after, Xu Luozhao had sent over Han Yang's basic information that was used when he signed up for the competition.

"Oh,” Helian Qing replied. "Then let's go."

If only I had gotten there just a little bit earlier back then, I would've been able to snatch him up properly.

But what Helian Qing had absolutely no expectation of, was that when the time for the meal had arrived Han Yang would not be there at all. Only upon asking did he find out of the young man's departure in advance.

I will scare him. Helian Qing, for the first time in his life—felt hesitance.

"I can't," Helian Qing stated.

"He's heading back home?" Helian Qing's brows wrinkled. "Where did he go?"

T/n: Yan Jin is Xu Luozhao's partner, and maybe husband. He was mentioned back in chapter ...

"It's not the same," Helian Qing paused, "he's different."

"Ah, thank you." Because of this man's praises, Han Yang's eyes formed an upward curve as he smiled towards him.

"He headed to the train station," the other party replied, "and he'll be taking the 12:50 train back to Y-City."

Helian Qing gave Xu Luozhao a call, making him research Han Yang's background information. At this, Xu Luozhao was rather surprised, "That little Teng Seng was just a little kind-hearted. You can't be willing to go as far as digging into his past just for that, can you?"

Not a second was wasted by Helian Qing in leaving the hotel, making his way directly to the train station.

Not a second was wasted by Helian Qing in leaving the hotel, making his way directly to the train station.

Helian Qing went back alone, leaving Xu Luozhao perplexed as he circled Helian Qing a couple times, "Something's fishy, something is really fishy."

The event became a prolonged war, and no one knew when it would come to an end.

"Thank you." Han Yang smiled lightly, the act carrying a tinge of embarrassment due to those people's praises.

"..." Helian Qing lowered his head back to his documents.

Unable to tell what was going on in his own head, Helian Qing simply felt that if he did not go chase after that youth—he would regret it. Only wanting greatly to grab hold of that boy who was like a unmarked piece of paper.

According to the report, Han Yang had just turned fifteen, attended Y-City No.1 High School, and had a grandfather listed as his only relative.

"You didn't even look, so how can you say it was courageous," Xu Luozhao spat.

"Yes," Han Yang replied.

Noon was the peak time of rush hour for those people who were getting off work. The road, as a result, was congested in quite a few places. So after he hurriedly arrived at the train station, Han Yang had already gone through the safety check.

Less than half an hour later, not even as much as ten minutes after, Xu Luozhao had sent over Han Yang's basic information that was used when he signed up for the competition.

The train station was crowded with people, and Helian Qing wanted very much to push his way through that heavy stream of bodies, but he was prevented to move even a single step. Turning around to look, he also did not notice anyone he knew, therefore he just checked his ticket then continued into the station.

"Mn, courageous indeed," Helian Qing said effortlessly.

Helian Qing watched him as he vanished into the station's entrance, his own heart bursting into a fit of agitation. He wanted to go exchange his ticket for another to chase after him immediately, but sadly, his assistant from his company, Xiao Chen, called to inform him of an urgent matter that needed his handling, imploring him to return to the company at once.

"What kid?" Helian Qing asked.

At that moment Helian Qing realized, that after so many years, a part of his heart had always been reserved for that youth called Han Yang.

Back then he was soft-hearted, and it made him miss five years with Han Yang, so this time—no matter what—he would not miss that chance again. Regardless of what problems arise, he could not afford to not have this person, his most genuine desire being to hold the other in his arms.

So just like that, he stood still outside that front yard, gazing at Han Yang, neither entering, nor leaving.

He's so cute, he's practically an untainted canvas.

Done with answering everyone's questions, afterwards, all of the ones who were facing him looked on with smiled filled faces. Seeing this young man carrying an air traced with inexperience, and brows which were delicate and pretty, made Helian Qing feel as if his own heart had been caught by a cat.

While Helian Qing looking on at that grandfather and grandson, the sudden thought that he should not have gone there overtook him; and that he should also not disturb their warm and peaceful life.

Chapter Twenty-Seven Helian Qing Extra

Helian Qing gave Xu Luozhao a call, making him research Han Yang's background information. At this, Xu Luozhao was rather surprised, "That little Teng Seng was just a little kind-hearted. You can't be willing to go as far as digging into his past just for that, can you?"

Back then he was soft-hearted, and it made him miss five years with Han Yang, so this time—no matter what—he would not miss that chance again. Regardless of what problems arise, he could not afford to not have this person, his most genuine desire being to hold the other in his arms.

"Stop spewing crap, and just do a basic background check for his address and personal info. Send it to me in half an hour," Helian Qing stated.

Helian Qing went back alone, leaving Xu Luozhao perplexed as he circled Helian Qing a couple times, "Something's fishy, something is really fishy."

"What kid?" Helian Qing asked.

If only I had gotten there just a little bit earlier back then, I would've been able to snatch him up properly.

"Oh,” Helian Qing replied. "Then let's go."

"..." Xu Luozhao took the documents, not saying a word.

So, after half a decade of separation, Helian Qing laid eyes on Han Yang again. He noticed that the youth had already grown into a young man. His brows, which in the beginning showed his inexperience, had now become as gentle as a stream; and just like they had before—still made his heart throb.

"You are the Boss, and you have the final say," Xu Luozhao conceded.

Yet a short while later, he poked Helian again, saying, "The creativity of the one from this group's is pretty darn good! Although their technical know-how is inadequate; creativity-wise, they're more original and bold."

"He headed to the train station," the other party replied, "and he'll be taking the 12:50 train back to Y-City."

"And you're talking as if you can read and understand code," Helian Qing retorted.

"Not at all, you explained it all amazingly well!" A judge began clapping, with the others soon following suit, erupting into a round of applause.

*

The uniquely refreshing tone belonging to that youth standing on the platform, floated into the dull man's ear, prompting the pen in his hand to stop—his head raising slightly as he looked towards the stage and at the teen, who had just given his self-introduction.

Even though this Qing Gége and Saltfish's written story has come to an end, those two will continue to enjoy many happy days in the future~

Less than half an hour later, not even as much as ten minutes after, Xu Luozhao had sent over Han Yang's basic information that was used when he signed up for the competition.

"Why can't you?" Xu Luozhao asked. "You can give him a better life, isn't that a good thing?"

According to the report, Han Yang had just turned fifteen, attended Y-City No.1 High School, and had a grandfather listed as his only relative.

For the next two days, Helian Qing handled his affairs, and once done, went over to Han Yang's location.

Five years earlier, the road into Han Yang's village had not been repaired, so the path from the small town into the village was still bumpy, unlevelled and muddy. The End.

"The one from the contest! The one who's address you asked for," Xu Luozhao exclaimed. "When you looked at other people your eyes had it written all over them, to the point where it scared me!"

Helian Qing thought to himself.

The uniquely refreshing tone belonging to that youth standing on the platform, floated into the dull man's ear, prompting the pen in his hand to stop—his head raising slightly as he looked towards the stage and at the teen, who had just given his self-introduction.

Xu Luozhao shrugged his shoulders, "Whatever makes you happy. I'll head out first. If you feel like having a drink later, this GēgeT/n: Big brother will make a reservation for you, okay," then left after he finished speaking.

Chapter Twenty-Seven Helian Qing Extra

As friends of the investor, Helian Qing and Xu Luozhao were VIP level honoured guests. So once the host saw him raise his hand, he put aside his own speech and handed the floor over to him. Even though that man did not have much of an understanding towards game programming, he did however play more than a fair share of games during his school days. Thus immediately after the handover, he began asking a few questions pertaining to the game's plot and design elements.

The youth's request was permitted and the host asked for that teammate the lad had mentioned to come onto the stage.

"He's heading back home?" Helian Qing's brows wrinkled. "Where did he go?"

"..." Helian Qing lowered his head back to his documents.

Until one random day, after five years had passed, when Xu Luozhao brought a piece of information before him, and made them cross paths yet again.

I will scare him. Helian Qing, for the first time in his life—felt hesitance.

"Had what written all over them?" Helian Qing raised his head to look at him.

According to the report, Han Yang had just turned fifteen, attended Y-City No.1 High School, and had a grandfather listed as his only relative.

He doesn't care one bit about what colours that white paper has been stained with in the last five years, just that from this day onwards, the only name written on it will be: Helian Qing.

Helian Qing went back alone, leaving Xu Luozhao perplexed as he circled Helian Qing a couple times, "Something's fishy, something is really fishy."

I can't tell whether or not he's sixteen... Helian Qing thought to himself.

"Unhappy?" Xu Luozhao laughed. "When I first met Yan Jin, do you think I was happy?"

"Get away from me," Helian Qing pushed him aside, moving to take a seat behind his office desk.

Xu Luozhao shrugged his shoulders, "Whatever makes you happy. I'll head out first. If you feel like having a drink later, this GēgeT/n: Big brother will make a reservation for you, okay," then left after he finished speaking.

After ten minutes or so, a head full of white hair belonging to an old man appeared from inside the house. Helian Qing guessed that he should be Han Yang's grandfather, and the boy's only relative.

Helian Qing continued to write notes on the documents to highlight the areas which needed modifications, not even attempting to lift his head as he responded: "I'll leave the matter of giving encouragement to you, with my share included as well."

"Stop spewing crap, and just do a basic background check for his address and personal info. Send it to me in half an hour," Helian Qing stated.

"Yes," Han Yang replied.

While Helian Qing looking on at that grandfather and grandson, the sudden thought that he should not have gone there overtook him; and that he should also not disturb their warm and peaceful life.

"Oh. So does that mean your nickname is Teng SengT/n: just think of Teng Seng as Mother Theresa for now then?" Helian Qing asked. "Are you the saviour of the common man?"

Done with answering everyone's questions, afterwards, all of the ones who were facing him looked on with smiled filled faces. Seeing this young man carrying an air traced with inexperience, and brows which were delicate and pretty, made Helian Qing feel as if his own heart had been caught by a cat.

"..." Helian Qing lowered his head back to his documents.

"Tch, you're such a dull man." Xu Luozhao harrumphed.

His face was very good looking—fair and clean. Wearing a white school uniform, he gave off the impression he was someone who was quite clever.

That was the first time Helian Qing knew what having his heart being moved felt like. He then collected his pictures and news clippings of Han Yang from the competition, locking them away in a small box before placing it on the highest bookshelf—never to look at them again.

"What kid?" Helian Qing asked.

Helian Qing continued to write notes on the documents to highlight the areas which needed modifications, not even attempting to lift his head as he responded: "I'll leave the matter of giving encouragement to you, with my share included as well."

Yet a short while later, he poked Helian again, saying, "The creativity of the one from this group's is pretty darn good! Although their technical know-how is inadequate; creativity-wise, they're more original and bold."

Not a second was wasted by Helian Qing in leaving the hotel, making his way directly to the train station.

That was what he believed before going there; but at this moment, he had come to the realisation such thoughts were merely his own wishful thinking.

"Not at all, you explained it all amazingly well!" A judge began clapping, with the others soon following suit, erupting into a round of applause.

"Thank you." Han Yang smiled lightly, the act carrying a tinge of embarrassment due to those people's praises.

"Why am I even still asking you?" Xu Luozhao turned towards the presenter on the stage after he spoke, gesturing that he had a question to ask.

Though Han Yang's life right then was probably not so well off, but from looking at the expression on that boy's face he could see the lad was indeed very content.

Less than half an hour later, not even as much as ten minutes after, Xu Luozhao had sent over Han Yang's basic information that was used when he signed up for the competition.

"They were filled with: Mine Mine Mine Mine Mine Mine!" Xu Luozhao stated exaggeratedly.

"Not at all, you explained it all amazingly well!" A judge began clapping, with the others soon following suit, erupting into a round of applause.

Since things was like that, what reason did he have to pull him down that path when the storm was at its peak[5], and pull his life off its intended path for no reason? Besides that, there was also that old man with the hunched back who placed all his hopes and dreams onto Han Yang.

"Oh. So does that mean your nickname is Teng SengT/n: just think of Teng Seng as Mother Theresa for now then?" Helian Qing asked. "Are you the saviour of the common man?"

Xu Luozhao after hearing it smiled, "That's it? I thought it was some big issue. Just put off bringing him back here until sometime later."

The youth's request was permitted and the host asked for that teammate the lad had mentioned to come onto the stage.

"What kid?" Helian Qing asked.

Helian Qing went back alone, leaving Xu Luozhao perplexed as he circled Helian Qing a couple times, "Something's fishy, something is really fishy."

"Oh,” Helian Qing replied. "Then let's go."

Helian Qing went back alone, leaving Xu Luozhao perplexed as he circled Helian Qing a couple times, "Something's fishy, something is really fishy."

At the venue for the event, Helian Qing's attention was divided between the competition itself, a chattering Xu Luozhao, and the documents in his hands.

"Get away from me," Helian Qing pushed him aside, moving to take a seat behind his office desk.

"They were filled with: Mine Mine Mine Mine Mine Mine!" Xu Luozhao stated exaggeratedly.

Xu Luozhao followed him, his gossip loving soul now ignited, "How come you didn't bring that kid back with you?"

"What kid?" Helian Qing asked.

"A'Qing, at noon there'll be a luncheon with the kids who won awards, do you want to come along?" the friend asked.

Helian Qing thought to himself.

"The one from the contest! The one who's address you asked for," Xu Luozhao exclaimed. "When you looked at other people your eyes had it written all over them, to the point where it scared me!"

Helian Qing looked down at his documents, not moving an inch for a long time.

Helian Qing thought to himself.

"Hello to all the guests, judges and teachers." The young man on the stage bowed respectfully after saying his greetings. "My name is Han Yang and I'm a student of Y-City No.1 High School."

Helian Qing continued to write notes on the documents to highlight the areas which needed modifications, not even attempting to lift his head as he responded: "I'll leave the matter of giving encouragement to you, with my share included as well."

If only I had gotten there just a little bit earlier back then, I would've been able to snatch him up properly.

"Had what written all over them?" Helian Qing raised his head to look at him.

Helian Qing went back alone, leaving Xu Luozhao perplexed as he circled Helian Qing a couple times, "Something's fishy, something is really fishy."

"They were filled with: Mine Mine Mine Mine Mine Mine!" Xu Luozhao stated exaggeratedly.

While Helian Qing looking on at that grandfather and grandson, the sudden thought that he should not have gone there overtook him; and that he should also not disturb their warm and peaceful life.

But what Helian Qing had absolutely no expectation of, was that when the time for the meal had arrived Han Yang would not be there at all. Only upon asking did he find out of the young man's departure in advance.

"Unhappy?" Xu Luozhao laughed. "When I first met Yan Jin, do you think I was happy?"

"..." Helian Qing lowered his head back to his documents.

"Get away from me," Helian Qing pushed him aside, moving to take a seat behind his office desk.

His face was very good looking—fair and clean. Wearing a white school uniform, he gave off the impression he was someone who was quite clever.

So, after half a decade of separation, Helian Qing laid eyes on Han Yang again. He noticed that the youth had already grown into a young man. His brows, which in the beginning showed his inexperience, had now become as gentle as a stream; and just like they had before—still made his heart throb.

"Sigh. What the hell happened, huh? Can you just tell me that?” Xu Luozhao was not happy at all.

So just like that, he stood still outside that front yard, gazing at Han Yang, neither entering, nor leaving.

Helian Qing remained silent for a while, then gave a brief overview of what had happened.

Xu Luozhao shrugged his shoulders, "Whatever makes you happy. I'll head out first. If you feel like having a drink later, this GēgeT/n: Big brother will make a reservation for you, okay," then left after he finished speaking.

"You didn't even look, so how can you say it was courageous," Xu Luozhao spat.

Xu Luozhao after hearing it smiled, "That's it? I thought it was some big issue. Just put off bringing him back here until sometime later."

So just like that, he stood still outside that front yard, gazing at Han Yang, neither entering, nor leaving.

"..." Xu Luozhao took the documents, not saying a word.

Not a second was wasted by Helian Qing in leaving the hotel, making his way directly to the train station.

Helian Qing looked down at his documents, not moving an inch for a long time.

"I can't," Helian Qing stated.

"Ah, thank you." Because of this man's praises, Han Yang's eyes formed an upward curve as he smiled towards him.

"He's heading back home?" Helian Qing's brows wrinkled. "Where did he go?"

His height was rather short; probably not even tall enough to reach the man's own shoulder.

He's so cute, he's practically an untainted canvas.

If only I had gotten there just a little bit earlier back then, I would've been able to snatch him up properly.

"Why can't you?" Xu Luozhao asked. "You can give him a better life, isn't that a good thing?"

"It's not the same," Helian Qing paused, "he's different."

"You are the Boss, and you have the final say," Xu Luozhao conceded.

The smile the lad gave had hints of childishness, causing him to appear even younger. Upon seeing that smile, Helian Qing released a gentle groan, before smacking his handful of documents onto Xu Luozhao's face and saying, "Take a look at these."

Not a second was wasted by Helian Qing in leaving the hotel, making his way directly to the train station.

"Award winners?" Helian Qing, seemingly unconcerned, asked. "So just the top three?"

Xu Luozhao followed him, his gossip loving soul now ignited, "How come you didn't bring that kid back with you?"

Helian Qing looked down at his documents, not moving an inch for a long time.

Probably because he had never expected the man before him to say such a thing, Han Yang froze. A vacant look painted itself upon his face momentarily. With his eyes widened greatly, he looked at that man; the thought of issuing a reply utterly forgotten.

His height was rather short; probably not even tall enough to reach the man's own shoulder.

Han Yang seemed to have heard someone had called him, but with the large number of people within the terminal—all of whom produced their own mix of miscellaneous noises—he was unable to hear it clearly. Therefore, even if it was obvious Han Yang would not willingly sign the marriage contract and would also be reluctant to be kind-hearted. All he had to do was be willing to wait until that slowly changed, but before all that, he had to first capture that person.

Unable to tell what was going on in his own head, Helian Qing simply felt that if he did not go chase after that youth—he would regret it. Only wanting greatly to grab hold of that boy who was like a unmarked piece of paper.

At that moment Helian Qing realized, that after so many years, a part of his heart had always been reserved for that youth called Han Yang.

The smile the lad gave had hints of childishness, causing him to appear even younger. Upon seeing that smile, Helian Qing released a gentle groan, before smacking his handful of documents onto Xu Luozhao's face and saying, "Take a look at these."

Since things was like that, what reason did he have to pull him down that path when the storm was at its peak[5], and pull his life off its intended path for no reason? Besides that, there was also that old man with the hunched back who placed all his hopes and dreams onto Han Yang.

But what Helian Qing had absolutely no expectation of, was that when the time for the meal had arrived Han Yang would not be there at all. Only upon asking did he find out of the young man's departure in advance.

Not a second was wasted by Helian Qing in leaving the hotel, making his way directly to the train station.

Therefore, even if it was obvious Han Yang would not willingly sign the marriage contract and would also be reluctant to be kind-hearted. All he had to do was be willing to wait until that slowly changed, but before all that, he had to first capture that person.

"I can't," Helian Qing stated.

For the next two days, Helian Qing handled his affairs, and once done, went over to Han Yang's location.

Helian Qing continued to write notes on the documents to highlight the areas which needed modifications, not even attempting to lift his head as he responded: "I'll leave the matter of giving encouragement to you, with my share included as well."

Back then he was soft-hearted, and it made him miss five years with Han Yang, so this time—no matter what—he would not miss that chance again. Regardless of what problems arise, he could not afford to not have this person, his most genuine desire being to hold the other in his arms.

After he spoke, he noticed the judges were all unmoving, staring at him in silence, causing him to be unable to prevent a blush from staining his face, "I'm sorry, did I say too much?"

He doesn't care one bit about what colours that white paper has been stained with in the last five years, just that from this day onwards, the only name written on it will be: Helian Qing.

After ten minutes or so, a head full of white hair belonging to an old man appeared from inside the house. Helian Qing guessed that he should be Han Yang's grandfather, and the boy's only relative.

For the next two days, Helian Qing handled his affairs, and once done, went over to Han Yang's location.

"And you're talking as if you can read and understand code," Helian Qing retorted.

"Award winners?" Helian Qing, seemingly unconcerned, asked. "So just the top three?"

For the next two days, Helian Qing handled his affairs, and once done, went over to Han Yang's location.

"It's not the same," Helian Qing paused, "he's different."

"Thank you." Han Yang smiled lightly, the act carrying a tinge of embarrassment due to those people's praises.

"Get away from me," Helian Qing pushed him aside, moving to take a seat behind his office desk.

The End.

"You didn't even look, so how can you say it was courageous," Xu Luozhao spat.

"Unhappy?" Xu Luozhao laughed. "When I first met Yan Jin, do you think I was happy?"

Though Han Yang's life right then was probably not so well off, but from looking at the expression on that boy's face he could see the lad was indeed very content.

Author's Note:

Even though this Qing Gége and Saltfish's written story has come to an end, those two will continue to enjoy many happy days in the future~

Notes:

^1. 祖国的花朵: flowers of the motherland. It's just a term for the youth of the nation.

^2.一张白纸: lit. A blank sheet of paper. Meaning - untouched, untainted, pure.

^3. 唐僧: Tang Seng (Tan Sanzang). You may of heard of him, since he's the MC of the somewhat popular novel, Journey to the West. Sarcasm aside, Helian Qing is poking fun at Han Yang's naive, idealism.

^4. 蠢蠢/蠢蠢欲动: the silly/stupid he called Han Yang used the word (蠢蠢: chǔnchǔn), it also means to move disorderly which is the meaning in the idiom (蠢蠢欲动:chǔn chǔn yù dòng: to have ones desire, greed, etc. stirred/become restless) In the context of trying to start trouble, get your minds out the gutter 🙂

^5. 风口浪尖: (idiom) lit. when the winds and waves are at their fiercest. Meaning, at the high point of a struggle.

That's all folks.

my final thoughts: Helian Qing definitely had something to do with fixing that road leading into Han Yang's village. And Xu Luozhao's info must have been about HY's a**hole birth givers.

Anyway, thank you for reading this sweet (slightly creepy in some parts because of a certain tsundere princess) and fluffy as heck novel. This is my first novel translation and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did, and do. It took a while, but we made it! Not gonna lie, this crap is nerve wracking sometimes, especially in beginning, but I friggin love it!

So... what's next from this (~lovely~) translator, you ask? Well, novel-wise, I'll be moving on to completing, {Nowhere to be Found}, then a new story called {Unmarried Dad}. [insert Deity, or lack thereof, here] willing.

Until then, I'll just be updating manhua.

Bye, for now~

current iana: aw... look how hopeful I was in 2019 -__-, how cute. I started off 2020 by severing a nerve in my finger and it was all a crap shoot from there. But I'm finally back, and I hope saying so doesn't jinx it.
