T/n: Yo yo, check it out! The above pic is some tasty tangyuan.

But then his face calmly returned to its usual self, his tone careful as he said to me: "After I left, I was more busy than you think, so I hadn't noticed any emails you sent to me. So you sent me some, you say?"

"Shouldn't we go to the hospital to get you a detailed examination, then?" After saying this, Xiao Huaisu was everything but relaxed. He got up suddenly, reaching out to me before saying: "Let's go to the hospital. Didn't you just eat? So how could you just faint like that?" Let him take me to the hospital? There's absolutely no way I can go!

Him: "The money you owed Professor Xiao last time, did you pay it back? How did you even work up the nerve to borrow money from him? And why the hell would he actually lend it to you!" His tone reflected how incredulous he thought the entire situation was.

I thought I was passed out for a long time. When I woke up, I found myself cradled in Xiao Huaisu's arms as he was pressing on my philtrum[1]. Seeing I had awoke, his face gradually returned to its natural state. In that moment, I hesitated about whether or not I should pretend to be feeling weak, in an effort to being held in his arms for a little while longer. Feigning a weak tone, I asked: "How long was I out for? Has it been a couple hours?" While saying this, I even arched myself up a couple of times to twist into a more comfortable position on his lap before continuing to look at him.

As for why I was fine before and am only showing signs of this illness now, well, that due to me giving birth and me being too young when I did so according to the doctor. There was no other reason. It would just take time for me slowly recover, and for that there was medicine I had to take. But I've been so busy lately, so how could I have remembered to take it? Anyway, I don't think this is all that serious of a matter either, given how long it's been since I'd last fainted, I'm not worried.

I was too careless!

Walking for a bit more, he then stopped again, tugging my arm, then asked with a serious face: "Tell me if what I say next is true, alright? Could Li You actually be Professor Xiao's daughter?!"

Crinkling his brows, his face was solemn as he asked: "Why did you faint all of a sudden? Are you sick?"

I was anxious, afraid that Xiao Huaisu would still insist that I should go. Thus, after putting on a face full of smiles, I looked at him pleadingly. Even going so far as to tug on his sleeves, while giving him a giggle.

In in response, Xiao Huaisu stated word by word: "Not even a minute."

That fantasy of his wasn't too far off...

I was a teensy bit embarrassed, like, how could I've been out for such a short span of time? There wasn't even a chance for me to put on my little skit! The level of resentment in my heart was limitless. I was even too ashamed to pretend to be weak once more, so I just pulled myself up, planning to go get a cup of water, but Xiao Huaisu already handed one to me.

Anyhow, I didn't know how much time I would have together with him like this. So upon further consideration, I felt that continuing to like in the past was pointless, it was better to focus on the present.

Me: "I did pay him back, alright? Plus it's better to ask for it than meet by chance, you know. Plus, who doesn't borrow money? Didn't you also pay back money you borrowed from teachers when you were in school?"

I was anxious, afraid that Xiao Huaisu would still insist that I should go. Thus, after putting on a face full of smiles, I looked at him pleadingly. Even going so far as to tug on his sleeves, while giving him a giggle.

Before I could open the door, Li Zhi remembered something while in the kitchen and said to me: "Is Xiao Huaisu here?"

I turned my gaze to his, replying softly, "It's just low blood sugar. Didn't I mention it before?"

I was too careless!

Pausing for a bit, he then said: "Are you talking about when you pretended to faint back then? Furthermore, I don't remember you having this illness earlier, though."

But if I knew we were going to meet again under those circumstances, I would've said anything to stop him from making the first move for us to meet again.

I turned my gaze to his, replying softly, "It's just low blood sugar. Didn't I mention it before?"

I slapped my forehead, then after staying silent for a while, I dragged this dense guy to the cafeteria before saying blandly: "Really? They look super alike?"

Letting out an "oh", I put on a smile then asked in a tone that was deceptively light: "But before you left back then, didn't you tell me if anything happened that I should contact you? So when I sent you all those emails, why didn't you reply?" I pretended to not notice him not wanting to talk about it further.

Him: "The money you owed Professor Xiao last time, did you pay it back? How did you even work up the nerve to borrow money from him? And why the hell would he actually lend it to you!" His tone reflected how incredulous he thought the entire situation was.

I really did pretend to faint back then, haha... The cup in my hand received my uneasy stares, and after letting out a light cough, I explained: "It's just a mild illness, it's nothing to worry about, really."

Xiao Huaisu still had his brows in a knot, looking at my calmly.

As for why I was fine before and am only showing signs of this illness now, well, that due to me giving birth and me being too young when I did so according to the doctor. There was no other reason. Unable to listen to him any longer, I gave him a thumbs up and said: "Why don't you become a screenwriter?" Swaggering off after I spoke.

He got up suddenly, reaching out to me before saying: "Let's go to the hospital. Didn't you just eat? So how could you just faint like that?" Let him take me to the hospital? There's absolutely no way I can go!

Just then, the doorbell rang again...

He never expected me to ask something like this, hence the stunned expression currently on his face. Afterwards, he replied casually: "Yes." But the look on his face told me, he didn't want to discuss this any further.

From ever since I had Yoyo, I found out about my special physical condition from Lee Moli, and from then on, the only hospital I went to was one that was different than the type ordinary folks could use: Jiayu Hospital.

I whispered under my breath, Who could it be at this hour? Is it Aunty Huo, maybe? Still wondering, I opened the door, only to be met with a calm looking Xiao Huaisu standing outside of it, his brow lifted. Overtaken by fright, and without thinking, I slammed the door back shut.

Li Zhi was still in the kitchen cooking, Lee Moli was resting in their bedroom, and seeing Li You was absorbed in playing with her puzzle, I had to open the door myself.

Before I could open the door, Li Zhi remembered something while in the kitchen and said to me: "Is Xiao Huaisu here?"

Although my body didn't look that different than others on the outside, who knows what sort of unusual stuff can come up during an exam. After all, the kind of body that had given birth to a child, must have some differences from that moment onwards. The doctor from Jiayu even warned me that since I gave birth, I should never think its the same as before, as well as to avoid going to regular hospitals as much as I can.

After he spoke, the class was over. Xiao Huaisu had left, and most of the class rushed out like water after him, seeming to be filled with a million and one questions, and possessing an unprecedented thirst for knowledge.

I didn't turn around to look at then, only saying to Li Zhi: "It's no one, somebody just pressed the wrong button."

As for why I was fine before and am only showing signs of this illness now, well, that due to me giving birth and me being too young when I did so according to the doctor. There was no other reason. Anyway, I don't think this is all that serious of a matter either, given how long it's been since I'd last fainted, I'm not worried.

During play time, I heard the doorbell ring.

Thinking about for a second, he replied: "Yeah, I did too."

When I met Xiao Huaisu again, he was teaching one of my classes. In one of the furthest corners of the back, I stuffed myself into a seat before staring at him. It had been ten days since I had last seen him, so I had missed him very much.

Before I could open the door, Li Zhi remembered something while in the kitchen and said to me: "Is Xiao Huaisu here?"

Li Zhi heard the noise, so he came out from the kitchen to ask: "Li Tian, who is it?!"

Pretending it wasn't a big deal and there was nothing to worry about, I said: "It's just a little fainting spell, I'm all better now, you see? It's nothing to get all worked up over. Seriously, I'm fine."

But without saying a word, the atmosphere around him turned cold, making me unable to ask, making it clear he didn't want to talk about it, and so would just not do so.

Xiao Huaisu still had his brows in a knot, looking at my calmly.

I couldn't help but curse internally: After you went abroad you didn't want to talk to me, so you just didn't. Yet you still want to use this excuse? I only wanted to ask him why he ignored me. What did I even do to offend you?

Originally, my self-confidence plummeted, afraid Xiao Huaisu would completely ignore me after having such an uncomfortable conversation, never expecting him to be back to his regular self when we ate dinner that night. It seemed as if that unpleasant conversation we had earlier never actually happened, which made me feel relieved.

Anyhow, I didn't know how much time I would have together with him like this. So upon further consideration, I felt that continuing to like in the past was pointless, it was better to focus on the present.

Just as Qiao Damai and I stood up, leaving the classroom, he suddenly stopped behind me, looking towards me before shouting: "Yoyo! Yoyo!"

I was anxious, afraid that Xiao Huaisu would still insist that I should go. Thus, after putting on a face full of smiles, I looked at him pleadingly. Even going so far as to tug on his sleeves, while giving him a giggle.

While I was all anxious at the beginning at the year, I completely forgot about Xiao Huaisu saying he wanted to meet Li Zhi and Lee Moli. I really was in this bind because of carelessness! Why didn't he give me the heads up?

I whispered under my breath, Who could it be at this hour? Is it Aunty Huo, maybe? Still wondering, I opened the door, only to be met with a calm looking Xiao Huaisu standing outside of it, his brow lifted. Overtaken by fright, and without thinking, I slammed the door back shut.

And just like that, he stopped nagging for a while, fixing his gaze on Xiao Huaisu like I had. Out of nowhere, he then asked: "Don't you think Professor Xiao looks really familiar?"

After he spoke, the class was over. Xiao Huaisu had left, and most of the class rushed out like water after him, seeming to be filled with a million and one questions, and possessing an unprecedented thirst for knowledge.

Gently patting my head, he said: "You're already a father, yet you're still afraid of going to the hospital?"

I couldn't help but curse internally: After you went abroad you didn't want to talk to me, so you just didn't. Yet you still want to use this excuse? I only wanted to ask him why he ignored me. What did I even do to offend you?

Xiao Huaisu still had his brows in a knot, looking at my calmly.

He kept nodding his head like a little chicken: "Yes! They look all the more similar the more I think about it! Especially the shape of their faces, their eyes, and their noses! Tsk!"

Letting out an "oh", I put on a smile then asked in a tone that was deceptively light: "But before you left back then, didn't you tell me if anything happened that I should contact you? I immediately retorted: "Which part of me is afraid? The hospital isn't a good place, you're supposed to to not go there as much as you can."

Me: "I did pay him back, alright? Plus it's better to ask for it than meet by chance, you know. Plus, who doesn't borrow money? Didn't you also pay back money you borrowed from teachers when you were in school?"

I tried to hold it back, bit I honestly couldn't bear it any longer. So following a moment of hesitation, with a voice barely above a whisper, I asked: "In the few years you were away, were you doing alright?" From since we got to know each other again, this was my first time asking him a question about hat happened to him during those years.

So after Xiao Huaisu left, I had taken Li You back to her grandparents house.

Seeing how anxiously I argued, his expression softened, traces of helplessness visible in his eyes, seeming as if there was nothing else he could do.

I stared at him confused, finishing his sentence for him: "Check it out?"

I couldn't help but curse internally: After you went abroad you didn't want to talk to me, so you just didn't. Yet you still want to use this excuse? I only wanted to ask him why he ignored me. What did I even do to offend you?

Prompting Li Zhi to smile at me and say: "That kid, Xiao Huaisu, called me yesterday and said he wants to come see me and your mom, and it's also about time for him to show up. Did you see that kid when you opened the door? I know you haven't seen Xiao Huaisu for so many years, but how could you forget how he tutored you? Didn't that guy do his best and go through all that trouble to tutor you, just so you can attend A-University?"

At first, this look of his made me want to jump for joy. But when I suddenly remembered him never bothering to contact me, or straight up ignoring me in the years after he had left the country back then, my spirits were again down in the dumps.

掐人中: "pinching" the philtrum. As the pic (I hopefully remember to add) shows, this is an acupoint that is believed to aid in bringing a person back to consciousness in TCM. [] 汤圆: tang yuan (glutinous rice balls/dumplings) is a sweet or savoury treat that is a staple for Lantern Festival at the end of the new year celebrations. It's made from glutinous rice flour and a common stuffing is black sesame seeds. 药 !药!!切克闹!: Yo! Yo! Check it out! This is what Li Tian thought Damai was shouting. Since the You in Li You's name sounds like Yo. []iana: there may have been a dirty joke in the first two paragraphs but I'm not sure... Basic rundown:- Li Tian arched (thrust) a couple times, twisted himself to be more comfortable, after asking how long it lasted. For Xiao Huaisu to say, not even a minute... Li Tian grumbling about his short timing... Or maybe I'm reading too much into it.
Anyhoo, Damai now realising Xiao Huaisu and Li You's similarity is why he'll be trapped by Du Zhuo 🥰🤗🥰, but his random guesses about Li You and Xiao Huaisu's connection being close to the truth is why Du Zhuo will have a tough time sealing the deal 🤣

He never expected me to ask something like this, hence the stunned expression currently on his face. Afterwards, he replied casually: "Yes." But the look on his face told me, he didn't want to discuss this any further.

How could I have expected Qiao Damai to have thought of this? I couldn't help but stare at him with my eyes wide as I asked: "What nonsense are you saying?"

His current expression was much different from its prior state of relaxation, growing much darker and increasingly to one of gloom as it turned to me, seeming to examine me as well while they recollecting something.

A few more days passed by like this, and when the new year neared, Xiao Huaisu said his third aunt had taken his cousin and their friends back home; meaning, there was no reason for him to continue staying there. Li Zhi had been nagging me about always bringing Li You back to stay at my place, and hearing him say this had of course made me very happy.

I immediately retorted: "Which part of me is afraid? The hospital isn't a good place, you're supposed to to not go there as much as you can."

He never expected me to ask something like this, hence the stunned expression currently on his face. Afterwards, he replied casually: "Yes." But the look on his face told me, he didn't want to discuss this any further.

I was so shocked my face lost its colour. So wearing an incredulous look on my face I looked at Li Zhi and asked: "How do you know he's back in the country?"

If a problem between me and him became the reason he couldn't our father-daughter pair a happy face, then my little Yoyo who is interested in her second father would feel very disheartened.

I turned my gaze to his, replying softly, "It's just low blood sugar. Didn't I mention it before?"

What do I do if my parents see him?

Right as I was racking my brain to think up an excuse to go see Xiao Huaisu, he too the initiative to come meet me first.

So after Xiao Huaisu left, I had taken Li You back to her grandparents house.

He then gave me his analysis: "Look, I saw you and Xiao Huaisu together a few times, and he also went to your place a few times too. You even asked him to lend you money, so why would he give to you for no reason at all? Is it because Professor Xiao is afraid of people talking behind his back, and his noble standing might be affected, so he left his child to be raised by you here? And because of this relationship, you, my dear friend, got blinded by money and demanded an exorbitant amount from him. You then kept badgering him to give you more." The more he spoke, the more excited he got, until the excitement painted on his face turned into concern: "But you can't keep going down a wrong path like this, because if Professor Xiao gets pushed in a corner, what are you going to do if he wants to kill you to prevent further trouble?"

Although my body didn't look that different than others on the outside, who knows what sort of unusual stuff can come up during an exam. After all, the kind of body that had given birth to a child, must have some differences from that moment onwards. At the end of the New Year Festival, I took Li You to the Lantern Festival. But since her school term began earlier than my own, and the Lantern Festival in a couple days, I decided to just let her play for those days. We spent them setting off fireworks together, releasing sky lanterns, and stuffing our faces with tangyuan[2]. Then on the same day as me, I sent her to off to school.

Because closed the door too loud, that Li You also came out the living room, looking on from afar, asking: "Dad?"

That Saturday, I took Li You to her grandparents' as usual, and because I had promised to take her to the movies that morning, when we went back, it was already noon. While I accompanied Li Zhi in the kitchen doing this and that for a while, I let out a sigh at how fancy today's lunch had looked, and just left to go play with a puzzle in the living room with Li You.

I thought I was passed out for a long time. When I woke up, I found myself cradled in Xiao Huaisu's arms as he was pressing on my philtrum.

Seeing how anxiously I argued, his expression softened, traces of helplessness visible in his eyes, seeming as if there was nothing else he could do.

If a problem between me and him became the reason he couldn't our father-daughter pair a happy face, then my little Yoyo who is interested in her second father would feel very disheartened.

When I met Xiao Huaisu again, he was teaching one of my classes. In one of the furthest corners of the back, I stuffed myself into a seat before staring at him. It had been ten days since I had last seen him, so I had missed him very much.

Because closed the door too loud, that Li You also came out the living room, looking on from afar, asking: "Dad?"

I was too careless!

Beside me was the persistently yammering Qiao Damai, as he had attended this class with me. His voice wasn't that loud, fearing he'd affect Xiao Huaisu. But what was more important to note, was that due to everyone in the classroom being super focused on the lecture, the atmosphere was so silent you could hear the sound of a dropped pin, so why the heck was he speaking so loud?

This is good. This is alright.

Him: "The money you owed Professor Xiao last time, did you pay it back? How did you even work up the nerve to borrow money from him? And why the hell would he actually lend it to you!" His tone reflected how incredulous he thought the entire situation was.

Li Zhi heard the noise, so he came out from the kitchen to ask: "Li Tian, who is it?!"

This is good. This is alright.

Me: "I did pay him back, alright? Plus it's better to ask for it than meet by chance, you know. Plus, who doesn't borrow money? Didn't you also pay back money you borrowed from teachers when you were in school?"

And just like that, he stopped nagging for a while, fixing his gaze on Xiao Huaisu like I had. Out of nowhere, he then asked: "Don't you think Professor Xiao looks really familiar?"

Crinkling his brows, his face was solemn as he asked: "Why did you faint all of a sudden? Are you sick?"

His current expression was much different from its prior state of relaxation, growing much darker and increasingly to one of gloom as it turned to me, seeming to examine me as well while they recollecting something.

I was too careless!

Thinking about for a second, he replied: "Yeah, I did too."

I was so shocked my face lost its colour. So wearing an incredulous look on my face I looked at Li Zhi and asked: "How do you know he's back in the country?"

I turned my gaze to his, replying softly, "It's just low blood sugar. Didn't I mention it before?"

If a problem between me and him became the reason he couldn't our father-daughter pair a happy face, then my little Yoyo who is interested in her second father would feel very disheartened.

After he spoke, the class was over. Xiao Huaisu had left, and most of the class rushed out like water after him, seeming to be filled with a million and one questions, and possessing an unprecedented thirst for knowledge.

Just as Qiao Damai and I stood up, leaving the classroom, he suddenly stopped behind me, looking towards me before shouting: "Yoyo! Yoyo!"

Right as I was racking my brain to think up an excuse to go see Xiao Huaisu, he too the initiative to come meet me first.

I stared at him confused, finishing his sentence for him: "Check it out?"[3]

Gently patting my head, he said: "You're already a father, yet you're still afraid of going to the hospital?"

I was so shocked my face lost its colour. So wearing an incredulous look on my face I looked at Li Zhi and asked: "How do you know he's back in the country?"

In in response, Xiao Huaisu stated word by word: "Not even a minute."

He gripped my shoulders tightly: "Youyou! I just realized Youyou and the professor look super alike!"

At the end of the New Year Festival, I took Li You to the Lantern Festival. But since her school term began earlier than my own, and the Lantern Festival in a couple days, I decided to just let her play for those days. We spent them setting off fireworks together, releasing sky lanterns, and stuffing our faces with tangyuan. Then on the same day as me, I sent her to off to school.

Li Zhi had been nagging me about always bringing Li You back to stay at my place, and hearing him say this had of course made me very happy.

I slapped my forehead, then after staying silent for a while, I dragged this dense guy to the cafeteria before saying blandly: "Really? They look super alike?"

Seeing how anxiously I argued, his expression softened, traces of helplessness visible in his eyes, seeming as if there was nothing else he could do.

How could I have expected Qiao Damai to have thought of this? I couldn't help but stare at him with my eyes wide as I asked: "What nonsense are you saying?"

Unable to listen to him any longer, I gave him a thumbs up and said: "Why don't you become a screenwriter?" Swaggering off after I spoke.

He kept nodding his head like a little chicken: "Yes! They look all the more similar the more I think about it! Especially the shape of their faces, their eyes, and their noses! Tsk!"

His current expression was much different from its prior state of relaxation, growing much darker and increasingly to one of gloom as it turned to me, seeming to examine me as well while they recollecting something.

During play time, I heard the doorbell ring.

Right as I was racking my brain to think up an excuse to go see Xiao Huaisu, he too the initiative to come meet me first.

Walking for a bit more, he then stopped again, tugging my arm, then asked with a serious face: "Tell me if what I say next is true, alright? Could Li You actually be Professor Xiao's daughter?!"

At first, this look of his made me want to jump for joy. But when I suddenly remembered him never bothering to contact me, or straight up ignoring me in the years after he had left the country back then, my spirits were again down in the dumps.

The doctor from Jiayu even warned me that since I gave birth, I should never think its the same as before, as well as to avoid going to regular hospitals as much as I can.

That fantasy of his wasn't too far off...

Anyhow, I didn't know how much time I would have together with him like this. So upon further consideration, I felt that continuing to like in the past was pointless, it was better to focus on the present.

T/n: Yo yo, check it out! The above pic is some tasty tangyuan.

Gently patting my head, he said: "You're already a father, yet you're still afraid of going to the hospital?"

Pausing for a bit, he then said: "Are you talking about when you pretended to faint back then? Furthermore, I don't remember you having this illness earlier, though."

But without saying a word, the atmosphere around him turned cold, making me unable to ask, making it clear he didn't want to talk about it, and so would just not do so.

From ever since I had Yoyo, I found out about my special physical condition from Lee Moli, and from then on, the only hospital I went to was one that was different than the type ordinary folks could use: Jiayu Hospital.

He never expected me to ask something like this, hence the stunned expression currently on his face. Afterwards, he replied casually: "Yes." But the look on his face told me, he didn't want to discuss this any further.

Pausing for a bit, he then said: "Are you talking about when you pretended to faint back then? Furthermore, I don't remember you having this illness earlier, though."

But if I knew we were going to meet again under those circumstances, I would've said anything to stop him from making the first move for us to meet again.

I couldn't help but curse internally: After you went abroad you didn't want to talk to me, so you just didn't. Yet you still want to use this excuse? I only wanted to ask him why he ignored me. What did I even do to offend you?

That fantasy of his wasn't too far off...

Before I could open the door, Li Zhi remembered something while in the kitchen and said to me: "Is Xiao Huaisu here?"

Li Zhi heard the noise, so he came out from the kitchen to ask: "Li Tian, who is it?!"

I slapped my forehead, then after staying silent for a while, I dragged this dense guy to the cafeteria before saying blandly: "Really? They look super alike?"

Walking for a bit more, he then stopped again, tugging my arm, then asked with a serious face: "Tell me if what I say next is true, alright? Could Li You actually be Professor Xiao's daughter?!"

Walking for a bit more, he then stopped again, tugging my arm, then asked with a serious face: "Tell me if what I say next is true, alright? Could Li You actually be Professor Xiao's daughter?!"

While I was all anxious at the beginning at the year, I completely forgot about Xiao Huaisu saying he wanted to meet Li Zhi and Lee Moli. I really was in this bind because of carelessness! Why didn't he give me the heads up?

So after Xiao Huaisu left, I had taken Li You back to her grandparents house.

At first, this look of his made me want to jump for joy. But when I suddenly remembered him never bothering to contact me, or straight up ignoring me in the years after he had left the country back then, my spirits were again down in the dumps.

I really did pretend to faint back then, haha... The cup in my hand received my uneasy stares, and after letting out a light cough, I explained: "It's just a mild illness, it's nothing to worry about, really."

What do I do if my parents see him?
